30-Year-Old York Mom Killed In US Rt 30 Crash ID'd: Lancaster Coroner

A 30-year-old mom woman is dead following a multiple-vehicle crash involving entrapment that closed all lanes of US Route 30 East in part of Lancaster County, authorities announced on Tuesday, June 4.

Dayanara Santiago most recently lived in the 200 block of South Duke Street of York City, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Eric Bieber. Her cause of death was Multiple Traumatic Injuries and the manner ruled Accidental. 

The crash involved a tractor-trailer with someone inside the cab entrapped with injuries, PennDOT spokesperson David Thompson told Daily Voice. Dayanara was in a passenger vehicle that caught fire in the crash, according to traffic cameras and authorities.

The crash happened near mile marker 256.6 in West Hempfield Township and the call came into Lancaster County Wide Communications at 10:53 a.m., authorities detailed. The coroner was called to the scene at 1:10 p.m.

The lane closure was for the eastbound traffic between the exits for PA 441 - Columbia/Marietta and Prospect Road, but the roadway reopened at 4:37 p.m. according to PennDOT's 511PA.

Dayanara had previously lived in Hartford, CT but was originally from Guayama, Puerto Rico, according to her social media.

She's survived by her family and friends who are sharing about their loss on social media.

Funeral and memorial service details have not been released at the time of publishing.
